The UN Volunteer will support UN Women’s communication strategy by creating digital materials that amplify the visibility and impact of key initiatives, including the "Safe Cities for Women and Girls" programme, the "Dare to Care" campaign promoting men's engagement in caregiving roles, and projects focused on the economic empowerment of rural women.
This assignment will involve contributing to the design and production of social media content, communication toolkits, visual assets for campaigns and events, and multimedia storytelling. Through this role, the UN Volunteer will help strengthen UN Women's outreach efforts, promote gender-transformative narratives, and engage a wider and younger audience across Tunisia.
Moreover, the assignment offers a professional development opportunity aligned with UN Women's youth engagement strategy, supporting the involvement of young talents in advancing the gender equality agenda through creative communication.Task description:Under the direct supervision of the Communications Analyst the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:1. Graphic Design & Branding
o Design social media visuals, infographics, reports, flyers, event materials, banners, and promotional items in line with UN Women’s visual identity.
o Contribute to the creative development of national campaigns.
o Adapt templates and layouts for print and digital dissemination.
2. Multimedia Content Creation
o Produce engaging digital content (stories, reels, short animations, carousels, etc.) for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other platforms.
o Capture and edit basic photo/video content during field missions and events.
o Work with the team to develop visual storytelling for key events (e.g., International Women’s Day, 16 Days of Activism, etc.).
3. Support Communication Campaigns
o Assist in brainstorming sessions and idea generation for campaign messaging and storytelling.
o Participate in youth-centered activities and contribute visual content.
o Collaborate with UN Women staff, partners, and consultants as needed.
4. Archiving & Knowledge Management
o Organize and maintain a library of visual assets and communication products.
o Ensure compliance with branding guidelines and correct use of logos, fonts, and colors.Requirements:
- Graphic design and/or digital content creation (internships/freelance work accepted).
- Strong command of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.)
- Experience with Canva and mobile video editing tools (e.g., CapCut) is a plus.
- Ability to conceptualize and translate ideas into visual content.
- Interest in gender equality, youth issues, or social justice communication.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Fluency in Arabic and French; working knowledge of English is an asset.
