The success of this position relies on working cross-functionally with operations, logistics, procurement, finance, central customs. The Customs & VAT Manager reports to the finance country championMain Missions :
Ensure implementation of Lear Customs and VAT policies, procedures and controls.
Support the local teams (including operational tasks) and the central customs team with Customs and VAT matters.
Monitor compliance of existing procedures
Manage customs applications and monitor requirements (e.g. approved exporter, AEO)
Monitor customs brokers performance
Perform regular risk assessments of various locations
Collaborate with other Customs Managers to ensure compliance across common flows. Special focus on Poland
Monitor VAT compliance in Tunisia and implement required processes
Coordinate communication with Customs, VAT authorities and external advisors
Coordinate customs and VAT audits
Design and deliver focused training sessions on special customs topics
Support communication with suppliers and customers to require/provide relevant information on origin documentation, customs and classification
Review and support preference calculations
To be successful for this role :
Bachelor degree in Customs Law , Finance or similar
Excellent understanding local customs regulations
3 to 5 years of relevant experience within a customs´ function. (Ideally within a fully exporting company)
Previous exposure to the development of business policies and process governance within an international business
Experience with VAT (not mandatory)
Excellent communication skills in English
Highest level of integrity

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
Language Skills:
Good communication skills in both French and English
